Green Monday? I support this concept is really good but I gotta admit that I am not a vege person. Today is special though, as I was out doing lunch with Mr Lau and another person for a quick lunch appointment. I would have stayed in bed all day as Monday is my day off, but I made this exception since it will be an Italian restaurant hosted by a Taiwanese Chef. Oh right, Taiwan is my 2nd favorite spot and I am more than curious to know how would a Taiwan Chef operates an Italian restaurant in HK. Let’s see how good it is? The first dish we have is a Caesar Salad($118), something to highlight about this salad is their cheese. Freshly grated cheese snowflakes on our salad. Hand on, don’t get me wrong, they are not using those small chesse block and shave it. In stead, there is a server move a 25 kg Grana Padano cheese block and shave a big portion of cheese flakes that can easily build a snow mountain on top of the salad. The cheese was imported directly from Italty and AOP, it was not as strong as parmesan cheese but it just go so well with the salad. It was a decent salad, if I can have it as my Monday treat, I would be happy to do a Green Monday lunch at least. The soup that comes with the meal is a tomato vege soup. Pasta and Pizzas are the common main course of a restaurant, we have got Pizza Fattoria ($118)a vegetarian pizza for today, homemade pizza with a slightly chewy crust , was pretty nice, toppings are mushrooms, eggplants and tomato. Nothing fancy but I am sure my vegetarian friends are so gonna fall in love with it. Heard that the owner brought a Volcanic Stone oven to make Neapolitan style pizza, I have tried the authentic Neapolitan style pizza but it was back it 15+ years ago so I can hardly recognize it, still I think the owner is really passionate about his food by all means. Personally I was very satisfied with the Pasta that we ordered today. Linguine All Aurora ($108) with al dente texture and a very refreshing creamy sauce so I am happy enough even though the pasta is not handmade ones. The sauce is nothing complicated, tomato, cream and capers, I never like capers but the sauce for this dish goes so well with it. The seared scallop was good, but it still taste good without it since the sauce is good enough. The sweet treat is Tiramisu for today, I do not have much of expectations, I liked it just because the sugar content is just right. Its freebie for ordering lunch sets so honestly it is good enough for a sweet treat after a proper meal! Overall I had pretty good experience in this restaurant. The food quality here is good and the price is kinda attractive. In the beginning I was expecting somehow a fusion Italian meal since the chef is a Taiwanese, turns out it taste way better then some of those so-called Authentic Italian restaurant. Lucky enough the owner (the chef) is here, and I gotta ask for some good restaurant recommendations in Taipei Thanks Chef!
