Another one-day trip to nearby places, and this time we went to bigger city, Bremen!!! It was a key city in northwestern Germany, and besides all other famous site-seeings and beautiful European streets, we were quite stopped by the bad weather :(
While still, we enjoyed a lot just by touching and 'borrowing' good luck from the famous Brother Grimm's folktale, Town Musicians of Bremen.
St. Peter's Cathedral
City Hall (Rathaus)
We were only given the chances to check out Cathedral and City Hall (outside) simply, and explored a bit in the city exhibition about multinational culture in Bremen. To be honest, it was a quite disappointing day trip because of rain which hided all beautiful city-view of Bremen from us. I was told by my friends about how beautiful the city looks in those tiny, medieval, fairytale-like streets.
Swineherd and Pigs Sculture
Bremen was like most of other middle-size cities in European countries, it was modernized with a lot shopping mall, commercial buildings and wider new-built roads, but in the city-centre, the old town is perfectly preserved with the stone and thin roads which make you lost easily, the well-decorated boutiques along the streets, the tram route going through everywhere, and the culture-richen sculptures. Swineherd and Pigs, was a representative of old folks, which show the normal countryside life of old Germans.
Going back to modern part, girls are always sticked to fancy goods and shopping streets, and we did spent some time there, plus it is a shopping block under glass ceiling, why not!
To my friend, shoes are absolutely her cup of tea, while for me, German salt bagel and chocolate would definitely the most attractive. I just found those lovely beetles in one nice chocolate (souvenir) shop; and with those sharp red and green, and almost hand-painting packages, could you imagine they are all edible chocolates???!!! I was over excited, and too easy to be excited :D
