Middle November, I was finishing my last crazy working week in Singapore, and spent almost the whole week in MO Singapore, I do have something to share.
MO Singapore is located on the end of Orchard Road; it is not as new and eye-freshing as other newly designed luxe-hotels in Singapore, while to keep its black and white style, MO Singapore keeps its service and quality, and some details really surprised me and impressed me a lot.
The design is a little wired to me as first impression, for all the hotel rooms around and extend each floor by floor, the central lifts are always busy from lobby till 4F, then go up to the room area (6F up). In-house restaurants and Morton's are located on 4F and 5F, also spa, swimming pool and gym etc are on the 5F.
I am living in the most standard room, which is quite small out of my expectation (while most of the space is given to the changing room). The best part of MO's room are their bed mattress and pillow; they are perfectly matched to my requirement of a sweet dream, high & softly firm enough!!! Really a clear-mind killer :P
Another point of our room is the night-view. We are just facing to the big wheel and Marine Bay Sands. The first light in the morning, is crystal clear, and the awesome sunset has a fully orange sky, when the night's coming, everything turns to white, blue, pink and purple.
MO's spa is really nice with a personal consultant, warm service and good production selection. To talk about the swimming pool, of course, it is not such a fancy one, but with little Greek & Asian twist, it would be very nice to just lay down and enjoy sun-bath there. I like the stairs leading you to the pool, very smooth experience and relaxing.
I have too much good memories about MO's foods; this time, I have another 'sweet' memory about Singapore's. A good day starts from a good breakfast!!! MO's breakfast buffet is a must try. Very spacious restaurants, even suitable for a morning meeting if you pick up a table closer to the hotel lobby; for the families, outdoor garden or dining area closer to outdoor garden would be better.
A rich selection of fine fruits featured by tropical fruits is my first choice, also they are doing fresh juicy bar just next to fruit station. For the breads, I prefer European style, so I always settle myself in cheese station instead of the real bread/cake station with a lot French pastries, Danish and Japanese bakeries. My 2nd favorite station is homemade yogurt bar, low sugar and right density. Except those, a lot people stay at Chinese Dim-Sum, fresh-made egg station, bacon & sausage, and Indian corners. I almost gave up all of them, and just pick up my lovely cheeses and fish salads on the other side.
I cannot tell how many sweets I have had throughout the whole week there, coz almost every night, we are treated with those beautiful pastries and chocolates in a table size! I really love the mini-tarts, handmade chocolate and macarons made by MO Singapore, very high quality in whatever taste or presentation.
About the restaurant, I didn't checked a lot, but Morton's Grilled Lobster, is definitely a must-try, very evil I know, but even every day when we have it, it's already 12 midnight, we still cannot control ourselves.
