五天JR West Wide Pass之旅的第四天，打算來個琵琶湖一天遊，一大清早便由京都出發，坐著湖西線到近江高島站 (約50分鐘)。
Planned to explore Biwako area on the 4th day of my JR West Wide Pass Trip. I woke up early morning and took the JR Kosei sen (湖西線) to Omi-Takashima station. Around 50mins from Kyoto.

車站的椅子還加上軟墊，是個很體貼的車站吧！

近江高島往來的班次不太頻密，大約一小時才有兩班。

車站只設人工通道，進出站就要跟職員展示車票。

There is no automatic ticket gates in this station. Everyone has to pass the manned gate.
There are pink cushions in the lobby as well! (Cute!)

早上八時多到達，觀光案內所還未開門。
不過門口都有記念印章，是我特意到此的原因 - 湖中島居呀！

There is a tourist infomation counter in the station which opens 9am-5pm everyday. I was a little early that day.
But I found another stamp just outside the counter, and there's the Torii.
I think 99% of tourists going to Omi-Takashima are for the Torii. So now I am going to show you 4 different ways to go there.
Option 1
If you arrive the station after 9am, I would recommend you to rent a bicycle from the information center at 300yen for the first 2 hours (another 300yen deposit). Please note the rental service end after 1pm.

Option 2
The easiest and cheapest way is to take the pre-book taxi from the taxi stop.
Reservation is needed 30mins prior to the scheduled time, and it just costs 300yen. For reservation, you have to call 0740 22 0106, along with your name, number of pax, route (Ukawasen), time and pick up point (JR station or the Jinja /shrine).
It is better to ask your hotel staff to help making reservation.
Option 3
If you forgot to pre-book a taxi, you can still catch one near the station. Simply show the driver a picture of the Torii or simply say it loud.
The fare is of cause higher than the pre-book one, 1170yen.
Alright, time to go back to the JR station.
Google map states the distance from the Torii to the station is around 3km, 40 mins. I only took around 30min.
First you have to walk along the main road, by the left side.
途中會經過四十八体石佛群，可以沿路走上去參觀一下。但我想走平路便繼續沿公路走。
There is another tourist spot, the 48 Buddhist Stone Images near by, you can take either way, keep walking by the road or walk up the slope
再往前走會見到分岔路，選左邊的小路。
then take the left path.
然後順著紅色小徑走。
And follow the red walkway.
見到火車軌便代表已經走了一半路程了。

回到近江高島站時，觀光案內所已經營業，原來這裡還有其他的記念印章。
