是詩人羅伯特‧彭斯（Robert Burns ）的作品，
後來被譜上傳統的民歌小調，成為一首旋律美妙的歌曲。
這一首西洋老歌不單傳頌友誼的可貴，
更是西方人在除夕夜迎接新年來臨，
手牽著手一起唱頌的傳統歌曲。
