London commuters are being given some food for thought, courtesy of a ridiculously cute PETA ad appearing in 25 different underground stations!

To mark the launch of the first in a series of new pro-vegan ads to be rolled out across the London underground network – a dozen giant “farm animals” descended on King’s Cross station this morning, with the message “Love me, don’t eat me!”

The ad campaign aims to challenge people to think critically about their meat consumption from the perspective of the animals who are killed for food and encouraging everyone to try vegan.
It comes at a moment when plant-based diets have never been so hot – a trend that looks set to keep on growing. Sales of meat-free foods in the UK have risen by more than 20 per cent in the last five years and topped £625 million in 2013. Everyone, from former US President Bill Clinton, renowned environmentalist Al Gore and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone to actors such as Russell Brand and Anne Hathaway, is singing the praises of animal-free eating.
It’s not hard to understand why, when you consider the powerful arguments for quitting meat. It helps the environment. It helps your health. And most importantly, it helps the billions of animals who suffer on filthy factory farms all over the world.

登記活動代表參加者願意即日起計30天全天吃素。
PETA會發電郵給參加者，以協助他們如何開展素食30天。
包括提議素食的好地方、提供素食菜譜、推介美味的素零食和素餐點等。
不過，由於PETA是英國組織，所發出的資訊應該全是以英國本地為主。
雖然那些資訊對香港或其他地方人士並不適用，但若日後有機會到英國旅遊，便能成為英國素食指南了。
