After typhoon Linfa had come and gone, I felt fortunate that it did not bring us a very bad weather so that I could still enjoy a wonderful Friday night at Green Waffle.
Green Waffle Diner is located at Paterson Street, just next to MCL cinema.
For main courses, we ordered a steak and egg hash skillet and a fish & chips.
Steak and egg hash skillet ($102)
It is a man-sized skillet of steak, mushrooms, onions, cheddar cheese and two poached eggs. If I am being captious here, I would say the steak was slightly over-cooked.
Fish & chips ($95)
It is a classic western dish – sole fillets fried in a crispy beer batter, served with french fries and homemade tartar sauce. The batter was a bit thick though.
Waffle menu
We ordered a
caramel apple waffle crunch ($70). It is a fresh sour granny smith apple chunks drizzled with caramel and chocolate source and sprinkled with toffee cinder and whipped cream. It was also served with a scoop of chocolate ice-cream from Apollo. The sweet toffee cinder and sour green apple are simply a perfect match.
As per the waitress, the restaurant brings in new special drinks once every quarter. In this hot summer, Green Waffle Diner introduces the granny smith apple and passion fruit soda, mint soda and iced chocolate.
We ordered a
granny smith apple and passion fruit soda ($33) and a
mango and pineapple smoothies ($36). The drinks were essentially excellent as we could really feel the freshness of the fruits.
