It was a rather quiet Saturday afternoon when we arrived at Dabyida. There were only a handful of customers in the restaurant and the place was quite dimly lit for such a sunny day. As soon as we have sat down, the waiter directed our attention to a special offer for oysters which we think is a bit attractive, but we finally decided to order 2 lunch sets instead for the afternoon. One little thing to note is although the sofa is seemingly gigantic, it was not that comfy as the distance between the sofa and the table was just a little too far, and make re-arrangements to the setting would be a nice idea.

r ($69): Starter with four different varieties of ham, each having its unique taste and texture. It would be an excellent dish for ham lovers, but not as much for us. Though we did not particularly fancy the extra sour garden salad, it did feel somewhat refreshing.

($69): Slices of raw salmon definitely is the favorite for most Hong Kong people, including me. The lemon juice on top certainly made it different from those you would have in a Japanese sushi place, but I actually prefer to keep it original.

Spaghetti Carbonara
($69): A regular dish often seen on the menu of almost every Western restaurant, and one would normally expect it to be quite standard and at least not awful. However, it is very disappointing that the restaurant has produced a rather tasteless dish which clearly lacked the right mix of ingredients, especially egg yolks and cream that form a vital part of the recipe of a delicious Spaghetti alla Carbonara. Frankly, I have tasted better Carbonara from the hands of my son.

Angel hair pasta with daily seafood and asparagus in olive oil
($79): This one tasted slightly better than the spaghetti for the fresh daily seafood has presented itself well in the dish. Yet, it again tasted a little plain as the restaurant failed to add in the sauce that would blend well with the seafood and angel hair.

Overall, the quality of the food was just ordinary and would surely demand further improvement. Nevertheless, the good thing about the restaurant is that its atmosphere is quite suitable for those who would prefer a little more tranquility and some private and undisturbed conversations with your friends, at least for Saturday afternoon.
